What is your primary style? Others have described my style as organic, ethereal, and romantic. I am always on the hunt for the dreamiest light possible. I tend to focus on natural emotions, real love, and real laughter.
Are you available for travel? Yes! My passport is my most prized procession. I was blessed to have lived in Europe for a year where I photographed all throughout Northern Italy, the Amalfi Coast Italy, Barcelona Spain, Santorini Greece, Paris France, and Geneva Switzerland. I started my career in Central New York where I got to photograph all throughout the state including New York City,Boston, Clearwater Florida, Ocean City Maryland, and Hoboken New Jersey. Now we are on a four year adventure throughout the Pacific North West.
Do you have any tips before our photo session? Yes! Outfits are so important and can really make an image. I always reccomend wearing neutral colors. Bright colors and designs often take away from the point of interest which is you and your love for your other half or your family. I do not recommend being really matchy matchy and I don’t suggest showing up in all white tees and jeans. Professional makeup also helps really make an image, especially during engagement sessions and is a good way to do a trial run for your wedding day. The best advice I can give is to just relax and try to be in the moment. Even if the kids are running around and your hair is a mess, that is real life, and it is beautiful.
How are my wedding images delivered? Your fully edited and retouched images will be uploaded onto an online gallery for easy viewing and downloading. I will also send you a zip file for even faster downloading. The final gallery will be delivered within 6-8 weeks from your wedding date.
How are my lifestyle portraiture images delivered? This process is a little different than weddings. Within two weeks of your session I will send you a link to an online gallery with the originals. The originals will be color corrected but not fully retouched. You then get to pick your favorite images, send me a list, and within a week I will have a finalized fully retouched gallery for you to download and share. You will have the option to purchase more images anytime including the originals.
What about printing? The online galleries are set up with a professional grade printing lab where you can buy prints, canvas, books, etc. It is really easy to share with friends and family so they can purchase prints as well. I also include a print release so that you can print anywhere you would like. I cannot however insure that it will look as good as the professional lab.
How many weddings have you photographed? I have shot a little over 100 weddings during my five year career. I couldn’t tell you how many lifestyle portraiture sessions I have photographed.
How did you get started? When I was just shy of 20 years old I attended college for graphic design and half way through I realized I was spending most of my time in the dark room and that all of my design projects revolved around photos I had taken with a 35mm film camera. It was then that a friend asked me to photograph her engagement, I didn’t have a DSLR so I shot it with my iPhone. She loved them and asked me to photograph her wedding. My father bought me my first Canon Rebel for the wedding, I quit my day job and decided to be a full time photographer, and so my story began. I love that I have gotten to grow up with my camera and that it has been my constant thought the years.
What is your favorite thing about photography? I absolutely love following my brides lives and capturing their journey. From the engagement, to the wedding, maternity announcements, gender reveal, birth, newborn, and then first birthdays and so on. I am infatuated with capturing these once in a lifetime moments for my clients. I love soaking in all of the emotions around me and getting to be apart of it all. Yes I totally cry at weddings.
What inspires you and makes you the happiest? I am inspired by dreamy golden light right before the sun sets, children’s laughter, indie folk music, and a good love story. I am infatuated with both the Ocean and the Mountains. My husband is my biggest supporter and my very best friend ( my dog comes in as a close second.) When I am not photographing we are either filling up our passports, antique shopping, wandering through the aisles of Target and Ikea, or binge watching Netflix.
How do I book you? I love social media and there is a way to contact me through each outlet. There is also a contact form on my website where you can email me. For weddings I require a 50 percent non refundable retainer with a signed contract to save your date. The other half is due 30 days prior to your wedding date. For Lifestyle portraiture session the payment is due the day of your session. Currently I accept cash, check, and paypal.
