When we first found out getting the base Fort Lewis in Tacoma Washington was an option I turned to google. I quickly searched the best photo locations and two things popped up. Rattlesnake Ledge which I finally got to shoot at last year, and Paradise at Mount Rainier National Park. The tricky thing about Mount Rainier is that most of the year its just snow and tricky to shoot at, especially as you go up in elevation. I was super happy when the stars aligned and I ended up having a month break in-between weddings and was able to get back to my husband in Washington. We had time to visit Mount Rainier in the Fall and got to follow the Slater family around as we explored the park. These are my favorite kind of family sessions, when it’s less about the posing and more about the emotions and adventure.
