This magical city was almost completely empty, making getting up far before sunrise worth it completely. We took the water taxi to the heart of the city to San Marco Square and had the whole place to ourselves. Even though It poured the entire time, I swear we were in a romance movie. I have never seen Venice quite like this.
I’ve been photographing weddings since 2012. Long enough to know that a perfect photo means nothing if you felt like shit while taking it.
You don’t need a director.
You don’t need to perform.
I’m here to observe. To document the things you didn’t know were happening because you were too busy actually living them.
To show you how deeply you are loved by focusing on everyone in the room.
To freeze this exact version of your lives before it shifts, because it will.
After 14 years of witnessing the emotional roller coaster that is a wedding day, this approach still shakes me to my core. Not the perfection. Not the details.
The people.
